2009
Exhibition
Collective exhibition, 16 artists from the Americas in search of a political lexicon to define reality from a particular and non-generic point of view.
Artists: Iván Abreu Ochoa, Marcela Armas, Stefan Brüggemann, Yoan Capote, Donna Conlon, Alexandre Da Cunha, Detanico & Lain, Leandro Erlich, Dario Escobar, José Antonio Hernández -diez, Geraldine Juárez, Marcos López, Rafael Lozano-hemmer, Jorge Macchi, Leo Marz, Cildo Meireles, Vik Muniz, Dulce Pinzón, Liliana Porter, Wilfredo Prieto, Paul Ramírez Jonas, Sara Ramo, Miguel Angel Rios, Adriana Salazar Vélez, Martín Sastre, Pablo Serra Marino.
Open ending
12-inch vinyl record modified to create stopwatch hands used on 5 watch-turntables that indicate days, hours, minutes, seconds, and hundredths of a second.
The use of the end of the disc or dead wax removes the original content of the disc, making the expression have an aesthetic noise, leaving only the label as memory for a sound reference.
The various speeds of these chronometer-turntables produce subtle combinations of sounds.
